In Transit with painter Peter Bakacs

A Melbourne native, Pete spent his childhood in the outer eastern hills subsisting on a diet of skateboarding, cartoons and 70’s cars. With a fastidious hand, Pete reveals a bright, acrylic world of vehicles, old school pastimes, and pop typography. He now lives down the coast with his wife and twin girls and built a sweet little studio to paint in. It is kept very neat.

Nowdays based in Ocean Grove Peter showed us around his studio and talked about his inspriations, career and the excitement around opening a new show at Outre Gallery in Fitztroy.

The show opens November 15 and runs to December 3 at Outré Gallery, 319 Smith Street, Fitzroy
