In conversation with author Shokoofeh Azar

Shokoofeh Azar is an Iranian artist, journalist and author whose book, The Enlightenment of the Greengage Tree, was shortlisted for the Stella Prize and received the Queensland Literary Award in 2018. She has been living in Australia since 2010, and is currently working on her next novel. Shokoofeh is a speaker at the Word for Word National Non-Fiction Festival in Geelong – wordforwordfestival.com.au – on 16th November 2019. She came into the studio and talked about her career as a writer, the genre of magic realism and the tree of life.
